IN THE NEWS: ANSI ES1.42-2025, Parade Safety

In June, the Event Safety Alliance (ESA) announced the publication of a new American National Standard: ANSI ES 1.42-2025, Parade Safety. This consensus industry standard was the product of ESA’s collaboration with the Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) to create authoritative guidance regarding various aspects of event safety.

ESA would like to point out additional coverage of the standard (articles by Steven Adelman, ESA vice president) to our members:

ESTA’s “Protocol” magazine has posted a cover story called Marking a Safer Route

IAFE’s “ie” magazine has posted a cover story called The March of Progress

This is ESA’s eighth American National Standard published since 2020. Previously published standards include ANSI ES1.4-2021, Event Fire Safety Requirements; ANSI ES1.6-2025, Event Safety Communications; ANSI ES1.7-2021, Event Safety Requirements Weather Preparedness; ANSI ES1.9-2020, Crowd Management; ANSI ES1.17-2025, Event Safety Lighting & Electrical Safety; ANSI ES1.19-2020, Safety Requirements for Special Event Structures; and ANSI ES1.40-2023, Event Safety Security.

ANSI ES 1.42-2025, Parade Safety, is available as a free download at the Technical Standards Program home page by clicking “Download Standards” and then entering “parade safety” into the Live Search box.
