The ESA Higher Education Committee (ESAHE) was established to:

1. Sponsor educational opportunities specifically aimed at higher education professionals and college students around event safety.

2. Provide networking opportunities for ESA members from higher education, touring groups, production companies and others to exchange ideas and information in order to create safer events.

3. Partner with professional organizations to provide outreach and educational opportunities for students who participate in events (i.e. concert boards, programming groups, performing arts, etc.).

4. Explore opportunities to provide coursework and/or training opportunities for college/university academic programs in Event Management that focus on event safety.

A private Facebook group has been set up for members. The group is titled ‘Event Safety Alliance – Higher Education.’ Members will need to request to join. This group will be used to share information about meetings, share resources, and provide opportunities for meetups at professional conferences.

ESAHE holds open/general meetings once per month on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 12:00–1:00 pm (Eastern Time). These meetings are held virtually (Zoom), and are open to all ESA members. A smaller working group will meet regularly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 12:00-1:00 pm (Eastern Time). This group will set agendas/meeting topics, trainings, and other engagement opportunities for the larger group.
