Dallas Tornado: How did AT&T Stadium protect 90,000 Eagles and Cowboys fans during storm warning?

It’s straight out of a horror movie. More than 90,000 fans are packed into a sports arena, when Mother Nature unleashes all her fury. For a while on Sunday, that plot line was in play for the Week 7 game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

Shortly before kickoff at AT&T Stadium, Arlington went under a tornado watch at 8:13 p.m. eastern, according to the National Weather Service’s Twitter feed.

A tornado touched down north and east of Arlington around 10:15 p.m. eastern, right around when the second half of the game got under way. The storm stayed north and east of Arlington and never posed a threat to the stadium or the game.
