Funds are available to anyone who has worked at least five years full time in the industry—whether behind the curtain, on the road, behind the camera, or for one of the companies who manufacture or supply products and services to the industry. “What can you do?  You’re just a bunch of roadies”

The men and women who work behind the scenes in the concert touring industry represent a vast resource waiting to be tapped in response to disasters such as the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

The crews who organize, manage, and staff the world’s largest concert tours have tremendous logistical experience that can be put to good use in ongoing relief efforts in partnerships with experienced non-profit organizations.  These “roadies” come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their work; we are highly adaptable and flexible, and we are used to working under pressure – including in uncomfortable conditions.  Many roadies are ready and willing to volunteer in any capacity when disaster strikes or in ongoing projects to strengthen communities in the many countries we visit.

At Love Hope Strength we turn concerts into lifesaving events. Through our GET ON THE LIST campaign we register marrow donors resulting in matches from concerts around the world. Through unique events, like Everest Rocks and Kilimanjaro Rocks, we build cancer centers, giving people access to early detection and quality cancer care.

LHS was founded in 2007 by leukemia survivors Mike Peters (of the Welsh rock band The Alarm) and James Chippendale (president of Ascend Insurance Brokerage). As the world’s leading rock-and-roll cancer foundation, LHS primarily raises its funds through musical pilgrimages to majestic sites like Mt. Everest, Mt. Fuji and Machu Picchu.
