The above list of event structure and stage accidents in 2017 makes clear that severe weather continues to be a leading threat to outdoor live events around the world. Of the 45 recorded incidents listed, over 60% (28) can be at least partially attributed to weather-related factors. Thorough engineering, competent construction, proactive weather monitoring, and an effective emergency action plan are all crucial to protecting those in our care. We’ll be discussing these issues and more at this year’s Severe Weather Summit on March 22-23, 2018. Registration is now open at http://severeweathersummit.com.
